[/b] Grayfox is a serious cat. He rarely cracks a joke or even laughs at another's joke. That isn't to say he's cold or unfriendly, though. Like any other cat he can uphold a pleasant conversation, though is often something of a bore. If you get him started discussing battle strategy or past victories, he may never stop. Like that old professor you had in college who lectured constantly, once you get Grayfox going it'll be nothing but uppercuts and feints until the mice come home.
Name: Grayfox
Age: 30 moons
Gender: Male
Clan: ThunderClan
Rank: Warrior
Appearance: Grayfox is a bulky cat, with a strong build and powerful muscles. He has large paws to support his massive weight, and a broad face. His eyes are a pale yellow-green. Plenty of scars from battles past litter his body, but they are nearly invisible under his thick fur.
Said fur is silver with a white undercoat and dark black classic tabby markings. His back and tail are mostly black, while his chest and belly are a dusty white color. To top off his appearance, Grayfox's ears are tipped with light gray tufts.
Personality: Personality:
Though he is very proud, it is a subtle pride. Grayfox doesn't come out and boast (unless specifically asked, and even then he's 'modest'), but you'll know when he's done something great. If he doesn't talk your ear off about it then at least his body language will betray his mood. What Grayfox prides himself in most is his strength. His weight alone is enough to win most battles, though it slows him down on the hunt. He's really a tough guy, and a strict mentor. No apprentice of his will be 'marginal'. He demands excellence.
Being a real talker makes Grayfox a very bad listener. He doesn't have the patience for other cat's problems, and will interrupt a story he finds boring (ironic, innit?). Grayfox is very opinionated, though surprisingly he usually keeps these to himself. More often he talks about training or battles, rather than his opinions of the other Clans or the like.
History: From the earliest moments of his life, Grayfox was always taught to protect and be proud of his Clan. Both his parents were strong ThunderClan warriors, Yellowclaw and Redheart. Once he and his sister, Bluekit, were weaned their mother, Yellowclaw returned to her warrior duties. Graykit took it upon himself to look after Bluekit, though she didn't always appreciate his concern. Bluekit was a very free spirit, always getting underpaw and causing trouble. Graykit was the overprotective, overly pompous older brother.
As an apprentice, Graypaw's mentor was a cold, lazy cat who often neglected training. Meanwhile, Bluepaw was developing into a brilliant warrior. Seeing he was falling behind, Graypaw's father took over his son's training. Under Redheart Graypaw grew into a strong young cat, and one that wasn't afraid to brag. Still he felt the need to protect his sister, and this often led to the two fighting. Bluepaw would always win, even if the fight got physical. She proved over and over that she was stronger, faster, and smarter, yet Graypaw still tried to keep her out of trouble. She was just a she-cat, after all.
It was on the eve of his warrior ceremony that Redheart died. Not in a fight, valiantly protecting his Clan, no. Redheart cut himself on a rusty metal fence. The wound got poisoned, infected, and the warrior was dead by nightfall. This was a wake-up call for Graypaw. His father had always been a solid, permanent fixture in his life, but just like that he was gone. If Redheart could go so easily, what was protecting his mother? His sister? Even him? Graypaw was suddenly very aware of his own mortality, and became a much more serious cat. The pompous, boastful youth was gone.
At 14 moons Graypaw and his sister became Grayfox and Bluebird. The two grew distant, and Bluebird went her own way, made her own friends. Meanwhile, Grayfox continued to train on his own, keen on keeping his physical fitness at the highest level even in peacetime. About two moons after receiving his warrior name Yellowclaw was killed by a group of rogues. She managed to take two of them with her. About this time Bluebird took on a mate. A moon later her mate died in a car accident and Bluebird, deprived of the will to live, died giving birth to his kits.
There has been a lot of death in Grayfox's life, but since his father's it doesn't faze him. Death is just a part of life, and he's made his peace with it.
Being ripped from his Clan, however, is something completely different. Who can say how he will cope with the new landscape?
